Pros: entertaining, informative book
Cons: no cons only popcorns
The Popcorn Book by Tomie dePaola is an excellent book giving various unknown facts about popcorns in the funniest possible way. Tomie dePaola seldom fails to delight and this offering is no exception.
Kids get together to pop up some pop corn and the little story of their "adventure" is quite funny. The children were on the edge of their seats through the entire story. Along with the story though, we get a great mini-lesson in the history of popcorn along with some wonderful scientific facts, i.e. why does popcorn pop, how do you store popcorn, etc.
I love this book for its funny and hilarious source of information. The reason I chose this book was because my favorite food is popcorn! Scientific & historical facts are presented in a very hip way by a fantastic writer/illustrator.
Even though it contains a lot of information it moves at a very fast past. Tomie de Paola must have had to do a lot of research for this book. I would recommend The Popcorn Book to all popcorn lovers.
