Pros: nice book with good recipe
Cons: critical about coconut oil
The Popcorn! By Frances Towner Giedt is an excellent book giving various facts about popcorns in the best possible way. Frances Towner Giedt seldom fails to delight and this offering is no exception.
This book falls under the must have and read category. This little book is packed full of recipes and fun little tidbits and history facts throughout. The book is well separated into savory concoctions (14 recipes), sweet confections (30 recipes), and skinny combinations (15 recipes).
Overall it is a clever and well done little book with some new ideas for popcorn presentation. The only low in this book is the comments about coconut oil being extremely bad for you and raising bad cholesterol levels.
To make it clear it is a well established fact in the scientific community that the tropical oils (palm kernel and coconut) are more highly saturated and edible. Other than that, nice fun book with some good recipes.
